AerCap CEO predicts passenger traffic expansion in 2022

AerCap CEO, Aengus Kelly, expects the recent uptick in late 2021 market conditions to continue this year. Read More » "Throughout 2021, we saw a steady improvement in the performance of the airline industry as borders reopened to travel and passenger traffic increased," Kelly said in AerCap's full-year transactions summary for 2021. "For AerCap, this manifested itself in an increased level of transaction activity due to growing demand for aircraft. I am optimistic we will see further increases in passenger traffic during 2022 as the recovery continues." The leasing company signed 311 lease agreements, made 65 purchases and executed 62 sale transactions in 2021. It also completed the acquisition of General Electric's GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS).
