Avolon head of portfolio management, Jim Morrison, said international air traffic was expected to recover strongly in 2022 and rise to 70% of 2019 levels. Read More » The forecasts were included in the lessor’s 2022 outlook, Rise Above. "The strong economic growth forecast for 2022 will drive a further recovery in demand for air travel," Morrison said. "While we are confident of the recovery, it will be gradual and uneven and vary region by region." The forecast noted there would be operational challenges in 2022, with a shortage of skilled aviation workers expected to limit industry growth.
