Cathay Pacific Airways is offering pilots a bonus of up to HK$29,000 (US$3,725) to be rostered on closed loop flights, reports Bloomberg, citing a staff memo. Read More » The schedule requires pilots to stay in designated hotels between flights. They also must complete two weeks of quarantine at the end of a two or three week flying pattern before returning home, "Encouraging more pilots to sign up to closed loop rosters will allow us to spread the flying tasks across more pilots while continuing to keep Hong Kong connected to the world,” the airline told Bloomberg. The report said captains would be paid HK$22,000 for operating two closed loop flights or HK$29,000 for four or more. First officer remuneration is proposed at HK$17,000 for two closed loop periods and HK$24,000 for four or more.
