Seven international destinations have been cancelled and the bulk of its B777 fleet grounded because of the strike.

The industrial action started when pilots in the Indian Pilots Guild were unhappy with the B787 training schedule, which was alleged to have favoured select pilots from Indian Airlines, which was merged with AI.

* India’s government has blocked Jet Airways’ entry into the Star Alliance and said it will only relent if AI is inducted as well.

Star suspended state-owned AI’s integration into the alliance because the carrier was not meeting “the minimum joining conditions that were contractually agreed in December 2007”.
