Boeing narrows full-year loss and forecasts "mounting recovery"

Boeing’s net loss narrowed to US$4.3 billion in the 12 months to December 31, from a net loss of US$11.9 billion a year earlier. Read More » Revenue rose 7%, to US$62.3 billion, the company said in a regulatory filing. Boeing delivered 340 commercial aircraft in 2021, more than double the 157 deliveries to customers in 2020. "The industry’s mounting recovery has spurred solid commercial airplane demand," Boeing CEO, Dave Calhoun, said in a message to staff. "Order activity picked up significantly, particularly for the 737 MAX." The air framer said its 737 MAX production rate will increase from 26 to 31 a month early this year. The OEM is evaluating the timing of more production line rate increases.
