Capital A's aviation unit has been renamed AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AAAGL) and will be led by Jamaludin Ibrahim as independent non-executive chairman. Read More » AAAGL, formerly known as AirAsia Aviation Limited, will oversee all airlines in Capital A, as well as related functions, AirAsia Consulting, shared corporate services division AirAsia SEA, the Santan food group and ground handling services joint venture GTR. Ibrahim will lead AAAGL's board of all independent directors, except the Group CEO, and will be separate to the board of Capital A. "The rationale for these structural changes is to provide a separate, robust and lean platform for the airline operations supporting Capital A’s continued focus of transforming to more than just an airline," AAAGL group CEO, Bo Lingam, said. "AAAGL will become one of the key pillars under Capital A, alongside the new digital businesses and aircraft engineering company, Asia Digital Engineering (ADE). ADE is preparing to announce a new board of directors as a separate entity to AAAGL." Capital A was formerly known as AirAsia Group.
