Read More » The program is supported by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Singapore government's investment fund, Temasek, and Changi Airport. SIA has purchased 1.25 million litres of neat SAF, produced from used cooking oil and waste animal fats. It will be blended with conventional jet fuel from ExxonMobil. Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights using the blend will be flying out of Changi Airport from the third quarter of calendar 2022, SIA said. “Sustainable aviation fuels are a key decarbonisation lever and a critical pathway for the success of the SIA Group’s commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050," Singapore Airlines senior vice president for corporate planning, Lee Wen Fen, said. "This pilot reinforces our commitment to decarbonisation and sustainability across our operations. By collaborating with our partners, we can accelerate and scale up the adoption of sustainable aviation fuels in Singapore."
