SIA records “slight moderation” in demand in January

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has reported a "slight moderation" in passenger demand in January after ticket sales for Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights were suspended for part of the month due to the Omicron outbreak. Read More » The airline group, flag carrier Singapore Airlines and LCC Scoot, said ticket sales for VTL flights were subject to a 50% reduction in arrival quotas when they went back on sale from January 21. SIA's monthly traffic report showed the airline group flew 535,200 passengers in January, down 10.2% month-on-month from 596,300 in December. Group capacity or available seat kilometres, was at 46% of pre-COVID-19 levels for the month, the company said. SIA is scheduled to release its quarterly financial report on February 24.
