Airbus and CFM International have announced a partnership to operate demonstration flights using hydrogen fuel on board an A380 flying test bed by the middle of the decade. CFM International is a joint venture between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Hong Kong-based Topcast Group has expanded its partnership with Liebherr-Singapore Pte Ltd to cover the supply of fast moving line replacement units (LRU) including heat exchangers for the A320 and A321 family of aircraft.

Hong Kong-headquartered Plaza Premium Group has opened its second passenger lounge at Helsinki Airport. The lounge is located landside at Terminal 2 and has seating for 135 guests.

Food supplier SATS has reported a net profit of S$5.1 million (US$3.8 million) for the three months to December 31, a turnaround from a loss of S$2.8 million in the same three months in 2020. Revenue increased 22.6%, to S$307.8 million, SATS said in a regulatory filing to the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

In other SATS news, the company plans to increase its holding in Asia Airfreight Terminal Co. Ltd (AAT), a cargo terminal operator at Hong Kong International Airport, from 49% to 65.4%. Simultaneously, Eastern Option Limited (EOL) will increase its equity in the cargo company from 20% to 34.6%. SATS said the pair had signed an agreement to purchase all shares in AAT held by Torres Investments Limited (15%), Keppel Telecommunications and Transportation Ltd (10%) and Federal Express Corp (6%) at HK$5.75 per share. At that price, the transaction will cost SATS and EOL HK$339.5 million and HK302.2 million, respectively.

AFI KLM AFI E&M 100%-owned subsidiary, EPCOR, has signed a contract with Punjab-based Air Sial for MRO of APUs on the airline’s A320 fleet.
