Capital A narrows net losses in 2021

Capital A, formerly known as AirAsia Group, has reported a net loss of 3.1 billion ringgit (US$743.8 million) for the 12 months to December 31, an improvement from a net loss of 5.1 billion ringgit in the previous year. AirAsia Aviation Group CEO, Bo Lingham, said the performance of Capital A airlines in the fourth quarter of calendar 2021 “was encouraging”. “The aviation group is moving in a positive direction as we anticipate a stronger rebound, enabling us to continue to grow with a lean operating structure," Lingham said. "It is our hope governments, especially in ASEAN, will continue to ease travel restrictions and reduce or remove onerous entry requirements for the benefit of the recoverability of the tourism industry."
