Finnair tweaks Asian network to avoid flying through Russian airspace

Finnair will maintain nonstop flights between Helsinki and Shanghai once a week and Helsinki-Seoul Incheon three times a week. Read More » The two services will operate with longer flight times to avoid Russian airspace in response to the country's invasion of Ukraine. The airline said the "further increased price of cargo" enabled the two passenger services to continue operating. However, the oneworld alliance member has cancelled flights to Osaka Kansai and Hong Kong until the end of April. “We strive to offer our customers connections between Europe and Asia to the extent it is possible in this challenging situation,” Finnair chief commercial officer, Ole Orvér, said. “We understand how frustrating the situation is to our customers. We are very sorry about the inconvenience and trouble the flight changes are causing them."
