Qantas to add four more E190s to Alliance wet lease agreement

Alliance Aviation Services said in a regulatory filing to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) that Qantas had exercised options to wet lease another four Embraer E190 regional jets. Read More » The first of the four aircraft will commence flying for Qantas at the end of March, with all four planned to be in the air by July 1. Qantas had 18 options available with Alliance to operate E190 aircraft on the flag carrier’s behalf. This latest announcement means it has exercised 14 of those options. The exercise of each option is for at least three years from the effective date, Alliance said, and added it expected a material increase in utilisation of the first eight aircraft wet-leased to Qantas for the remainder of 2021-2022 fiscal year.
