India to reopen international border on March 27

India has set March 27 as the date for the resumption of scheduled international passenger flights, the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced. Read More » "Resumption of commercial international passenger services would imply reversion to bilaterally agreed capacity entitlements and termination of air bubble arrangements," the DGCA said in a circular. "Airlines will restrict their operations to capacity entitlements under bilateral ASAs/traffic rights available with the airlines." ASA refers to air services agreements. Scheduled international flights to and from India have been suspended since March 2020, but air travel bubble flights, allowed under the country's Vande Bharat scheme, have been operating.
