India’s domestic passengers up 20% in February: IndiGo tops air traffic table

Indian airlines flew 7.7 million passengers on domestic flights in February, up 20.1% month-on-month from 6.4 million passengers carried in January. Read More » Despite the month-on-month improvement, the February numbers were 1.7% lower than the 7.8 million domestic passengers transported in the same month in 2021. IndiGo was India's largest domestic airline for the month with four million passengers, representing 51.3% of domestic market share. No other domestic carrier recorded more than one million passengers for the 31 days. Air India/Alliance Air was in second place with 967,000 passengers, or 12.6% market share, followed by SpiceJet (820,000 passengers, 10.7% market share) and Vistara (749,000 passengers, 9.7% market share).
