Construction of Australia-based Alliance Airlines maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Rockhampton, north Queensland has reached a milestone as concrete began pouring to form the footings and walls of the new hangar, a statement from the Queensland government said.
Vietnam-based Bamboo Airways and Lao Airlines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in establishing a maintenance hangar at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane. The workshop will service the A320 family aircraft of both carriers.
Indian carrier, SpiceJet, is working with Boeing and CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum to explore opportunities for the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the Indian aviation industry. "This expanded work with Boeing, with whom we already share a strong partnership through the highly efficient 737 MAX, along with the Indian Institute of Petroleum, who are the frontrunners for developing SAF in India, is a step forward in the journey to ensure air travel is sustainable for future generations," SpiceJet chairman, Ajay Singh, said.
A report from the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Alliance of Australia and New Zealand has recommended a Jet Council be established as an "immediate priority" for government to accelerate the development of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry.
