Virgin Australia increases frequencies on capital city routes

Virgin Australia (VA) will operate up to 35 flights a day between Melbourne and Sydney from July 1, 2022. Read More » It is the highest number of frequencies offered on the route since March 2020, the airline said. Across the remainder of its domestic network, VA will have up to 20 flights a day Brisbane-Sydney, up to 13 flights a day Brisbane-Melbourne and up to 11 flights daily between Adelaide and Melbourne. The frequency increases will be in addition to up to nine Canberra-Sydney flights a day.VA also flagged more flights from Australia's east coast to Perth in the period ahead, following the West Australian government's reopening of the state’s border in March. "In recent months Virgin Australia has considerably grown its share of the domestic market in Australia. It intends to hold its market share at 33% over time to ensure depth and breadth of its network and schedule for its core customers," VA said.
