Singapore and New Zealand sign sustainable aviation arrangement

New Zealand and Singapore have signed a sustainable aviation agreement that outlines cooperation in the use of sustainable aviation fuel, electrification of fleets and potential "green lanes" between the two countries. Read More » The arrangement was signed by New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, and Singapore’s Minister for Transport, S Iswaran. Ardern was in Singapore on her first overseas trip since the outbreak of the pandemic. “This arrangement is part of the newly added ‘green pillar’ of the Singapore-New Zealand Enhanced Partnership signed in 2019. It clearly indicates our commitment to jointly tackling climate change,” Ardern said. “We cannot afford to return to business as usual. That is unsustainable. We need to work with trusted partners like Singapore to ensure environmental sustainability is a core part of our economic strategy.”
