VietJet posts 98.4% improvement in quarterly after-tax profit

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has reported an after-tax profit of 244 billion dong (US$10.6 million) for the three months to March 31, up 98.4% from an after-tax profit of 123 billion dong in the same period in 2021. "In the first three months of 2022, Vietjet resumed its entire domestic network and relaunched regular international services," the LCC said. "It has operated 20,000 flights with more than three million passengers across 60 domestic and international routes,” the airline said, and added passenger numbers in the three months to March 31 were up 55% over the same quarter in 2021. A third A330 is expected to join the LCC’s fleet to cater for increased demand. This past weekend Vietjet resumed nonstop flights from Vietnam to Bali, New Delhi and Seoul and Thai Vietjet commenced a nonstop Bangkok Suvarnabhumi-Singapore service.
