Airbus CEO Fabrice Brégier once again lashed out at Boeing prior to last week’s ILA Air Show in Berlin for allegedly receiving benefits and other subsidies from Washington State. Read More »

According to Brégier, the underhand competition advantages in the form of adjusted tax rates amount to a total of more than US$8.7 billion, or more than the expected development costs of the upcoming B777X programme.

In 2012 the World Trade Organization (WTO) upheld a ruling that Boeing received more than US$5.3 billion of tax reliefs and other forms of subsidies between 1989 and 2006.

The EU and Brégier charge that the US has not followed the ruling requiring it to end the illicit subsidies.

Boeing has lodged similar complaints against Airbus in the past but the latter has never successfully been brought in front of a ruling regulatory body.
