Japan Airlines reports sharp spike in Golden Week passengers

Japan Airlines (JAL) said passengers on its domestic flights during the 2022 Golden Week - April 29 to May 8 - leapt 238.4%, to 835,665 passengers, from 350,571 customers carried in the corresponding 2021 holiday season. There are signs of a demand recovery in the international market due to the relaxation of border measures. Of note is the oneworld alliance member carried nine times more passengers to Hawaii during the 2022 Golden Week compared with the prior year with some services almost fully booked.
