EVA Air posts US$113 million net profit for 2022 first quarter

EVA Air has reported net profit of TW$3.3 billion (US$113 million) for the three months to March 31, returning to profit from a net loss of TW$2.2 billion in the same months in 2021. Read More » Operating revenue rose 52.9%, to TW$30.1 billion, EVA said in a regulatory filing to the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The income improvement outpaced a 23% increase in operating costs to TW$23.6 billion. Passenger numbers at the Star Alliance member increased to 71,072 during the quarter compared with 68,220 passengers in the previous corresponding period. Cargo demand, measured by freight tonne kilometres, was up by 13.3%.
