Malaysia Airports reports 1.2 million KLIA passengers processed for April

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) said Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) handled 1.2 million passengers in April, more than five times the 224,000 passengers who passed through its terminals in the same month in 2021. Read More » Despite the strong year-on-year growth, the April figures were broadly unchanged from March 2022. Domestic traveller numbers declined 24% month-on-month to 625,000 passengers in April and 825,000 air travellers in March. KLIA's international passenger numbers improved 43.8%, to 584,000, in the 30 days from 406,000 passengers in March. MAHB said travel demand in Malaysia was subdued during the Ramadan fasting month, but there are signs of a May rebound.
