Swiss WorldCargo joins Cathay Pacific Airways-Lufthansa Cargo partnership

Cathay Pacific Airways and Lufthansa Cargo said Swiss WorldCargo will be added to their joint business agreement. Read More » In the initial stage of the expanded partnership, the airlines will cooperate on cargo traffic from Hong Kong to Zurich and Frankfurt. Destinations elsewhere in Europe will be added to the network later this year. “The inclusion of Swiss WorldCargo’s flights into the large combined network of Cathay Pacific and Lufthansa will bring Hong Kong, the world’s busiest air cargo hub, closer to Europe and strengthen one of the world’s great trade lanes,” Cathay Pacific Airways director cargo, Tom Owen, said. Swiss International Air Lines head of cargo, Lorenzo Stoll, added: “We are very excited to be entering into this joint business agreement with Lufthansa Cargo and Cathay Pacific.” Cathay Pacific and Lufthansa Cargo established their partnership in 2016. The carriers cooperate on sales, pricing, contracts and the handling of shipments between Hong Kong and Europe. “The expanded joint venture will generate numerous benefits for our customers because our networks, our hubs and our fleets complement each other effectively,” Lufthansa Cargo CEO, Dorothea von Boxberg, said.
