AirAsia Indonesia reports US$34.6 million annual loss

AirAsia Indonesia recorded a net loss of 503.6 billion rupiah (US$34.6 million) for the 12 months to March 31, an improvement from a 749.7 billion rupiah net loss in the previous year. Net operating expenses fell 20.9%, to 718.9 billion rupiah. The LCC's financial accounts noted flight operations were suspended from July 2021 to September 2021 before gradually restarting in October 2021. “However, returning to normal operations was slow due to travel restrictions imposed by the government, limits on passenger capacity because of physical distancing rules in the cabin, closed international borders, very strict rapid test or swab tests and customer avoidance of non-essential travel,” Asia Indonesia said.
