Virgin Australia (VA) will commence nonstop flights between Queensland’s Gold Coast and Bali in March and resume services to Samoa and Vanuatu in the same month. Read More » Daily Gold Coast-Bali will begin on March 29 and up to five Brisbane-Port Vila flights a week are scheduled from March 10. The Australian carrier also will launch twice a week Sydney-Apia and three times weekly Brisbane-Apia from March 21 and March 23, respectively. “We are seeing continued growth in demand for Gold Coast services and are operating up to 180 domestic flights outbound each week,” Virgin Australia group CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, said. “In May alone our Gold Coast bookings increased 55% compared with pre-COVID. Bookings on our existing Bali flights are up 48% for the same period and growing every week.”
