ZIPAIR updates livery, launching nonstop Tokyo-San Jose flights

Read More » The LCC, a subsidiary of Japan Airlines, has not disclosed the schedule or fares for its latest U.S. service, but will open reservations for the route in the northern hemisphere autumn, it said. California’s San Jose will be ZIPAIR Tokyo's third U.S. destination after Honolulu and Los Angeles. “ZIPAIR represents a new kind of airline that leverages technology to provide an efficient, more accessible travel experience, a perfect fit for San José and Silicon Valley,” Mineta San José International Airport director of aviation, John Aitken, said. “We look forward to working with the ZIPAIR team to develop this new nonstop service.” ZIPAIR’s revised livery replaces the Z on the fleet’s aircraft tails with a geometric pattern. The LCC's logo was designed in 2018, ZIPAIR president, Shingo Nishida, told reporters in Tokyo last week. Recently, some customers have expressed concern about the tail’s Z given the letter's use by Russia to symbolise “victory” in its invasion of Ukraine, he said.
