Boeing chooses 777-200ER for 2022 ecoDemonstrator program

Read More » The 10th year of the Boeing ecoDemonstrator program will take place over six months in the northern hemisphere summer. It will test small vertical vanes on the wing to determine if they will improve aerodynamic efficiency, water conservation systems, additive manufacturing (3D printing) for parts, a new fire suppressant agent to reduce greenhouse emissions, a new heads up vision system for pilots and continuing studies of sustainable aviation fuel. “The Boeing ecoDemonstrator program brings together the two most important ingredients for a more sustainable future – innovative technologies and partnerships with customers, suppliers, government agencies and academia,” Boeing chief sustainability officer, Chris Raymond, said. “We celebrate its past successes and look forward to continuing this iconic program to help decarbonise aviation.”
