Airbus has selected KLK Motorsport and Modell- und Formenbau Blasius Gerg as a partner in devising the rear structure of its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype, CityAirbus NextGen.
Rolls-Royce is developing a new small engine designed for hybrid electric applications. The turbogenerator technology could be scaled to serve a 500 kW to 1200 kW power range, which would support the opening of longer routes on electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the OEM said.
