Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines to code-share on Kuala Lumpur-Haneda route

From August 14, Japan Airlines (JAL) will add its JL airline code to the twice a week Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo Haneda service operated by Malaysia Airlines. Read More » The latest code-share route agreement builds on the joint business partnership the two carriers established in 2020. Passengers on Malaysia Airlines flights to Haneda will be able to connect to destinations in Japan and also North America. Malaysia Airlines group CEO, Captain Izham Ismail, said the expansion of the code-share signified the strong partnership between the two oneworld alliance members. “This new critical step in our joint business partnership with Japan Airlines will allow us to provide seamless connections for our customers and enhanced products and offerings as well as establishing Kuala Lumpur as a prominent hub in Southeast Asia for travel into Malaysia and beyond,” he said. JAL president, Yuji Akasaka, said: “As one of the busiest airports in Asia, Haneda is not only conveniently located in the heart of Tokyo, but is a gateway to numerous destinations in Japan and countries around the world. As we head towards a recovery in travel demand, we look forward to working closely with Malaysia Airlines to welcome passengers with our highest standards in hospitality.”
