Kuala Lumpur International Airport records 1.98 million passengers for May

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) said Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) handled 1.98 million passengers in May, up 63.6% month-on-month from 1.21 million air passengers processed in April. Read More » The May figure was up sharply from the 166,000 air travellers passing through KLIA in the same month in 2021. May domestic travellers rose 72.6% month-on-month, to 1.08 million passengers, and international passengers increased 53.8% to 898,000. “Malaysia’s domestic sector continues to recover from the uplift of the interstate travel ban from October 11, 2021. It was stimulated by inter-domestic travel between airports to international destinations with the reopening of borders on April 1, 2022,” MAHB said.
