Read More » The latest AAPA figures report the region’s airlines flew 7.3 million passengers on scheduled international services in May, up 51.5% month-on-month from 4.8 million passengers flown in April. The May figure was more than five times higher than the 1.3 million passengers transported by Asia-Pacific airlines in May 2021. May passenger load factor was 71.5% compared with 64.9% in April and 27.8% in May a year ago. “The healthy increase in international passenger demand and the corresponding recovery in load factor offer some cause for optimism as the region’s airlines continue to streamline operations and invest in the travel experience to achieve a sustainable and technology enabled future for air transport,” Menon said. The AAPA’s statistics are aggregated from the traffic data of 40 Asia-Pacific airlines.
