China Airlines reports 72.4% improvement in June passenger numbers

Taiwan’s flag carrier, China Airlines, flew 58,632 passengers in June, up 72.4% from the 34,018 passengers it carried in May. Read More » The monthly numbers were more than five times higher than the 5,183 passengers the SkyTeam alliance member transported in the same month in 2021. Passenger load factor was 31.2% for the 30 days compared with 22% in May and 34.4% in June 2021. June passenger revenue was TW$912 million (US$30.5 million), an 86.5% increase from TW$489 million in May. For a comparison with pre-COVID-19 levels, in June 2019, CAL carried 1.4 million passengers, had a passenger load factor of 77.5% and generated TW$8.3 billion in passenger revenue.
