China Southern Airlines domestic passengers decline near 25% in July

China Southern Airlines (CSA) carried 8.4 million passengers on its domestic network in July, down 24.6%, from the 11.1 million in-country passengers flown in the same month in 2021. The airline's monthly traffic report indicated market conditions were continuing to improve after government restrictions to contain fresh Mainland outbreaks of COVID hammered demand. CSA's domestic passenger load factor for the 31 days was 70% against 77.3% and 67.2% in July 2021 and June 2022, respectively. In July 2019, seven months before the pandemic outbreak, CSA flew 11.6 million domestic passengers. Its passenger load factor was 83%.
