China Eastern Airlines reports 5.1 million domestic passengers for July

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) carried 5.1 million passengers on its domestic network in July, down 42.3%, from the 8.8 million it flew a year ago. Read More » Despite the year-on-year decline, the July figure was up 60.9%, from 3.1 million passengers flown in June. Domestic passenger load factor for the 31 days was 67.2% compared with 75.4% and 65.2% in June 2022 and July 2021, respectively. “The COVID-19 pandemic still has a significant impact on the business of the company, while the time span and severity of it has great uncertainty,” CEA said in its monthly traffic report. In pre-COVID-19 July 2019, the SkyTeam alliance member flew 9.6 million passengers and had a passenger load factor of 82.8% across its domestic network.
