China Airlines records 12-month peak in air passenger demand

Taiwan-headquartered China Airlines (CAL) flew 109,221 passengers last month, up 86.3%, from the 58,632 passengers transported in June. Read More » The July figure was a 1,252.4% increase over the 8,076 travellers flown in the same month in 2021. The SkyTeam alliance member recorded passenger revenue of TW$1.7 billion (US$56.8 billion) for the 31 days, up 86.8% from TW$912 million in June and 788.1% higher than the TW$192 million recorded a year ago. Citizens, resident card holders and transit passengers no longer need to provide proof of a negative PCR test to enter Taiwan. In July 2019, CAL earned TW$9.4 billion in passenger revenue and flew 1.4 million passengers.
