Auckland Airport announces lower full-year net profit

Auckland International Airport (AIA) has booked a 59% decline in net profit, to NZ$191.6 million (US$120.7 million), for the year to June 30, down 59% from a restated NZ$466.6 million net profit a year ago. Read More » Revenue increased 7%, to NZ$300.3 million, AIA said in regulatory filing. “While we are hopeful of a strong recovery in the next 18 months, our outlook remains conservative,” AIA CEO, Carrie Hurihanganui, said. “As aviation rebounds there continues to be some uncertainty about the shape of the recovery ahead with global operational challenges, such as labour shortages, constraining the system’s capacity. However, Auckland Airport continues to take a long-term view. We remain optimistic about the future because of the strong global appetite that exists for travel alongside Auckland’s position as a key aviation hub in the South Pacific.”
