Australian carriers struggle to meet on time performance targets

Read More » The airline had an on-time arrival rate of 47.1% for domestic flights for the month, the lowest of all airlines. Virgin Australia was at 52.6% for on-time arrivals, defined as reaching the gate less than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival time. Qantas Group LCC subsidiary, Jetstar, was at 51.5%. Regional Express (Rex) topped the list at 68.3%. BITRE said the month’s on-time arrival performance was impacted by weather, congestion and other COVID-19 related issues. The July figures were significantly lower than the long-term average of 81.9%.
