Mainland airlines report 54.7% increase in domestic passengers for July

China’s air carriers flew 33.8 million passengers on domestic services in July, up from 21.9 million passengers transported in June, figures from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) show. Read More » Despite the month-on-month improvement, the July figure was 30.9% below the 49 million domestic passengers flown in the year ago period. Domestic passenger load factor was 70.3% for the month against 67.5% in June and 78.7% in July 2021. In the same month in 2019, China’s airlines carried 52.7 million passengers on their domestic networks and had a passenger load factor of 83.6%.
