Air New Zealand brings one 777-300ER out of long-term storage

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has announced the first of four 777-300ER wide-bodies to return to active service after long-term storage in California has flown to Auckland. ZK-OKP touched down at the carrier’s home hub on August 23. Read More » It is expected to enter service in late September after scheduled maintenance. The remaining three 777-300ERs parked out of New Zealand will be returned to the flag carrier’s fleet in the next 12 months. At present, the Star Alliance member has returned two of its seven 777-300ERs to flying. “Due to increased demand for travel, the airline is bringing back its largest wide-body aircraft, seating up to 342 customers, to provide more capacity," AirNZ said.
