Virgin Australia doubles 737 MAX 8 order to eight of the type

Virgin Australia (VA) has ordered an additional four 737 MAXs. Read More » Deliveries are scheduled for the second half of 2023. The four aircraft are to be added to VA's April announcement that it will receive four 737 MAX 8s for entry into service in early 2023. “Despite the challenges faced by our industry, demand for travel remains strong. We are responding with a focus on the long-term by increasing the efficiency and sustainability of our fleet with four additional MAX 8s joining us from 2023,” VA CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, said. Separately, VA has ordered 25 737 MAX 10s.

The airline also has signed a long-term partnership with training provider, CAE. It gives VA priority access to a 737 NG full-flight simulator in Perth from April next year.
