Asia-Pacific air passengers increase 26% in July reports regional airline association

Read More » The July figure was a significant improvement over the 1.5 million passengers carried in the same month in 2021, figures from the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) show. “Growth in travel markets continued to accelerate in July, taking international passengers to 43 million in the first seven months of the year,” AAPA director general, Subhas Menon, said. “However, full recovery remains a long way off with traffic in July averaging only 34% of the corresponding pre-pandemic month in 2019.” The AAPA’s statistics are aggregated from the traffic data of 40 Asia-Pacific airlines. In pre-COVID-19 July 2019, the region’s airlines flew 32.5 million passengers for the month.
