THAI’s updated rehabilitation plan receives creditor approval

Thai Airways International (THAI) has reported creditors have accepted amendments to its business reorganisation strategy at an online meeting held late last week. Read More » Proposed in July, the restructuring amendments are a response to market conditions. They include a new six-year loan and/or bond valued at 12.5 billion baht (US$341 million), the issue of 31.5 billion new shares and revisions to its scheme of repayments to creditors. “THAI would like to thank all creditors for the acceptance and confidence they have shown in THAI’s business reorganisation,” the airline said. “This is a significant step forward in laying the foundation of THAI’s growth and profit-making capability as it helps promote the recovery of the Thai economy and society.”
