Jetstar scrambling to accommodate stranded passengers after several 787-8s grounded

Australia-based Jetstar Airways is adding flights to Bali to clear a backlog of passengers stranded in the Indonesian tourist mecca following problems with several of the Qantas Group LCC's 787-8s. Read More » “Unfortunately, our Boeing 787 fleet has been impacted by a number of issues, including a lightning strike, a bird strike, damage from an item on the runway and delays sourcing a specific spare part for one of our aircraft due to global supply chain challenges,” Jetstar said on its website. The LCC has cancelled eight return flights between Australia and Bali in the first week of this month. The cancellations have stranded an estimated 4,000 passengers; some of them for up to a week, media has reported, adding that at one stage, Jetstar had six of its 11 787-8s grounded.
