Embraer will acquire a minority shareholding in drone company, XMobots, to accelerate the medium and large autonomous drone markets and explore new market niches.

Pratt & Whitney has opened a technology accelerator at Seletar Aerospace Park in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board. The facility will be up and running in the fourth quarter of this year.

Spirit AeroSystems and Evergreen Technologies Corp have announced their joint venture, Spirit Evergreen Aftermarket Solutions (SEAS), will offer Taiwan-based MRO services for nacelles and flight control surfaces on several aircraft types from October 3.

The European Aviation Safety Agency has granted Safran Nacelles Part 145 certification, marking commencement of operations at the joint venture shop in China’s Suzhou. The facility is equipped for OEM-guaranteed repairs of nacelles and thrust reversers on the A330ceo and A320neo powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines. CFM International is a 50/50 Safran Aircraft Engines-GE company.
