EVA Air records 232,341 passengers; a flat performance in a peak summer month

EVA Air's monthly traffic report states the Taiwanese carrier's passenger numbers were little changed in August at 232,341 air travellers compared with 232,199 passengers transported in July. Read More » Despite the flat performance, the August numbers were more than 10 times higher than the 19,734 passengers EVA flew in the same month in 2021. The Star Alliance member said passenger revenue was TW$3.3 billion (US$105 million) for the 31 days, down 11.6% from TW$3.8 billion in July. More positively, revenue was up 470.5% from TW$883 million a year earlier. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, in August 2019 EVA flew 1.2 million passengers and booked passenger revenue of TW$9.7 billion.
