Air cargo demand declines by 8.3% from 2021 record revenue highs

Read More » Available CTKs (ACTK), were up 6.3% against August 2021. “Air cargo continues to demonstrate resilience,” IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said. “Cargo volumes, while tracking below the exceptional performance of 2021, have been relatively stable in the face of economic uncertainties and geopolitical conflicts. Market signals remain mixed. August presented several indicators with upside potential. Oil prices stabilised, inflation slowed and there was a slight expansion in goods traded globally.” Airlines in the Asia-Pacific posted a decline in CTKs and capacity increased by 13.9%. The region’s carriers benefited from slightly increased trade and manufacturing activity from the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, IATA said.
