Amazon Air leasing 10 converted A330-300P2F freighters

Amazon Air has signed a firm agreement with Altavair to lease 10 A330-300P2F (passenger to freighter) converted aircraft for its delivery services. Read More » Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) will undertake the conversions with the first P2F aircraft to join Amazon in 2023. Hawaiian Airlines will operate and maintain the A330-300P2Fs on behalf of Amazon Air. “Amazon’s endorsement of our freighters speaks volumes about the market value of the A330 and the position Airbus wide-bodies are gaining in the cargo market,” Airbus chief commercial officer and head of international, Christian Scherer, said. Hawaiian Airlines will establish a pilot base in continental U.S., expand existing maintenance bases and hire more pilots, mechanics, dispatchers and supply chain employees to support the new cargo operation. “This relationship provides a catalyst to grow our business and a unique opportunity to diversify our revenue sources while capitalizing on our established strengths,” Hawaiian Airlines CEO, Peter Ingram, said.
