Hong Kong launches biometric "flight token" for passenger departures

Hong Kong residents departing Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) are being offered biometrics to check in, bag drop and proceed through security, immigration and boarding. Read More » Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said the launch of the flight token technology at the airport will provide a more seamless departure from HKIA as travellers will not have to show their identity documents at any checkpoints from the time they enter the airport’s terminals to taking their seats on the aircraft. “With the relaxation of quarantine requirements, many local residents are again travelling through HKIA,” AAHK executive director of airport operations, Vivian Cheung, said. “To welcome them back, HKIA has implemented flight tokens in full, offering a pleasant and convenient departure experience. We will continue to work with our partners to enhance our services and offer passengers an even more enjoyable airport journey.”
