Boeing Company announces US$3.3 billion third quarter net loss

Boeing Company has reported a net loss of US$3.3 billion for the three months to September 30 compared with a net loss of US$132 million in the same months in 2021. The third quarter results reflected higher commercial volumes and losses on fixed price defence development programs, the OEM said, “We generated strong cash in the quarter and are on a solid path to achieving positive free cash flow for 2022,” Boeing CEO, Dave Calhoun, said. “We remain in a challenging environment and have more work ahead to drive stability, improve our performance and ensure we are consistently delivering on our commitments.” Boeing delivered 112 commercial aircraft in the quarter, from 85 in the previous three months, and booked net orders for 227 aircraft. The commercial aircraft arm posted a net loss of US$643 million, from a net loss of US$693 million previously.
