China Southern Airlines reports US$844 million quarterly loss

China Southern Airlines (CSA) has booked a net loss of 6.1 billion yuan (US$844 million) for the quarter to September 30, a deterioration from a 1.4 billion net loss previously. Read More » Revenue was higher by 9% at 29.3 billion yuan, CSA told to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in a regulatory filing. “The loss increased in the reporting period compared with the same period last year. It is attributable to the epidemics, the high oil price, the yuan devaluation and other unfavourable factors,” CSA said in the trading update.
